Challenge:
Idaho’s largest state agency manages 2,900 employees in seven disparate regions, is responsible for 55 public programs and services, and commands a substantial portion of the state’s budget. An organization of this size needs to manage communications at every level, internally and externally, and strategically guide its brand identity.
Solution:
Vanguard Media Group conducted a thorough brand audit of the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare: employee surveys, 80 face-to-face interviews, internal and external focus groups, and a statewide public opinion survey. The agency’s management team was involved through the entire, as we transitioned from research to analysis, planning to implementation.
We developed the look, feel and messaging of the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare. The organization aligned its internal and external messaging, made communications a primary initiative, and implemented mechanisms to control department-wide communications. Department programs now seek to use brand strategy on all external materials.
